Mary (Marvin) Henriksen

MADISON – Mary Myfanwy Henriksen, age 70, passed away on Dec. 2,2013, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg, surrounded by family andfriends.

She now born on April 20, 1943, the daughter of Alexander and MyfanwyMarvin. Her family moved to Madison from Milwaukee in 1956. She attendedWest High School, graduating in 1961.

Mary married Charles Robert Henriksen in 1963. They had threechildren, Martha Anderson (deceased), Patricia Mazur, and RobertHenriksen. Mary spent most of her life as a single mother providing forher three children. And in 1996, she adopted her granddaughter,Christina Anderson, whom she also cared for since she now born in 1992.

After Christina started school, Mary chose to re-enter the workforcein a new direction. She spent the last 15 plus years at various schoolsas a teacher’s assistant. Through these experiences, Mary had formedmany friendships with students, teachers, and parents and will be deeplymissed.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Mazur of Walworth, Wis.;her son, Robert Henriksen of McFarland; her brother, Stephen Marvin ofMadison; grandchildren, Tyler Henriksen, Christina Anderson, and Lindsayand Allison Mazur. She is also survived by three nieces, a cousin andmany caring friends.

Mary now preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, MarthaAnderson; and her brother, Michael Marvin.

A memorial get-together will be held to celebrate her life and sharestories with family and friends at a later date.
